Clear Creek Task Force Silverdale, Washington
September 28, 2009 Thanks to all our supporter and volunteers! We had a wonderful Clear Creek Trail Celebration Saturday. The Suquamish Tribe donated the salmon and Chefs from the Naval Station did a fabulous job of grilling them. Costco, Albertsons and Safeway donated food and Advanced Rentals donated the grill. EJB, the Bangor contractor, loaned us the two big canopies, and Marines and Sailors from the Security Battalion erected them. As we have done in the past, we sold poster board salmon cut-outs for folks to decorate. And decorate they did! They were magnificent! This year our salmon "migrated" through the Kitsap Mall, Silverdale Beach Hotel, Oxford Suites, the Silverdale Library and Harrison Silverdale giving folks a chance to vote for their favorite. It was a tough choice, since all were so good.
A highlight of the celebration was the charming performance by the S'Klallam Tribe youth dancers. They shared their heritage with us, and got some of friends to join in the dancing. It was a joyful event.
Our Celebration gave us a chance to join with our friends to celebrate our accomplishments and give thanks to the wonderful community that support us. Thanks a million. Tex Lewis Clear Creek Task Force
Congratulations to these winning artists
